A low-league game in Belgium last week saw a goal that has been seen several million times and has become an internet hit due to its unusualness.
Footballer Jan Verhelen, who hadn’t scored a goal in four years, in one situation just wanted to kick the ball in order to prevent the opponents from countering. He kicked as hard as he could and turned to get back on the defensive.
So he didn’t even see that the ball was flying and with the help of the wind it got an unusual movement and ended up in the opponent’s goal. Jan realized he had scored when his teammates and the crowd started cheering.
