Manchester United won in the transfer with the result 0-1 against Real Sociedad, in the valuable match for Group E of the Europa League. However, the three points were not enough for the “Red Devils” as it was precisely the Spaniards who secured it thanks to the best goal difference. In fact, in the second half of the game, the coach of the English team, Erik ten Hag, tried to change the fortunes of the meeting by making a series of substitutions, which in the end were not effective.

United legend Paul Scholes has openly expressed his disappointment with the Ten Hag’s moves, pointing out that he made changes by taking players out of role with the side that looked like a second-tier side.

“The second half was a bit messy and the team had no plan. It seemed to me that the only tactic was to throw the ball in front and then fight to win it back. It was a football that is applied in the inferior leagues, the teams of the second category do it. I don’t understand what Ten Hag asked to do, the players were out of their roles. The second half was a big mess”, said Scholes.
