The players of Marseille were defeated at home by Tottenham with 1:2 in the last round of the group stage of the Champions League.

This was revealed after the match by one of Marseille’s main players and the man who scored the only goal for his team last night, Chancel Mbemba.
He said that neither he nor his teammates knew that the point was enough for them to qualify for at least the Europa League.
“We didn’t know what was happening. Of course I mean us players. The people on the bench knew everything, but there was no communication. We are very angry, said Mbemba and added:
“We can’t believe this happened to us at the end of the game, but we didn’t know. Of course the mistake is ours alone,” concluded Mbemba.
Tudor also said his players didn’t hear what instructions he was giving them.
“They didn’t hear me. I told them not to go too far forward, so the lines don’t break up, but they wanted to score. There was too much noise”, said Tudor.
