Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has explained to the media why he replaced top scorer Haaland at half-time against Borussia Dortmund.
The two aforementioned teams played 0:0 in the Champions League, and many wondered why Haaland was substituted at halftime.
“Erling had a low temperature before the match, as did Joao Cancelo. He was tired, he got a knock, so we decided to replace him at half time. During that period, we struggled a lot and we needed fresh players on the field.”
Many fans have speculated that this is actually Haaland’s deal with Dortmund, that he will not play much time against Borussia if they meet in international matches after he leaves Dortmund.
